Michelle Mungall is one of the Honorary Co-Chairs of the Vancouver Liberal campaign for the October 17th municipal election. She brings a wealth of experience in municipal and provincial politics and wants to help create a better, stronger Vancouver.

After serving as Nelson's youngest City Councillor in history, Michelle was elected in 2009 as Nelson-Creston's first female Member for BC’s Legislative Assembly and served 12 years building strong relationships with her colleagues, First Nations and other levels of government.
In 2017, Michelle was appointed as Minister for Energy, Mines and Petroleum Resources in the John Horgan government. There, she was proud of her work to build BC's energy security, increase uptake of zero-emission vehicles and grow the economy. Shortly after she took on the Ministry of Jobs, Economic Development and Competitiveness, the COVID-19 pandemic hit. Michelle worked closely with small businesses across the province as well as key economic sectors to plan for economic mitigation and recovery.
Currently, Michelle works with the energy sector to forward the energy transition while also implementing the Calls for Justice from the National Inquiry into Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls.
Michelle recently moved to Vancouver with her two young children after Kareem gave her some great life advice. In discussing the city and the campaign with him, Kareem's vision for the city resonated with her. She’s now working on the Vancouver Liberal team to bring other young families to Vancouver, and to make sure that our amazing city remains affordable and full of opportunity.
