Kareem Allam and the Vancouver Liberals' response to the City of Vancouver's Villages Plan

The Vancouver Liberals today warned that the Villages Planning Program has serious gaps in infrastructure planning, phasing, retail viability, and public transparency that Council has failed to address before pushing the plan to adoption.

"This plan has no credible infrastructure strategy. It has no phasing. It has no monitoring. It has no plan for co-op housing, no guaranteed below-market units, and no seniors’ housing strategy. Council is asking Vancouverites to trust that all of that will be figured out later," said Allam. "That is not a plan. That is a wish list with a rezoning attached."
